SA slaps solar panels with new import tariff
In a bid to create local solar panel manufacturing capacity in South Africa, a 10% import duty has been instituted on solar PV panels, cells, and modules brought into the country.

Home Owners Beware
You Can Still Install your solar from an existing oversupply of solar panels imported into South Africa before now import duty of 10%.
Ask your installer when the panels were imported.
